Peugeot has officially invaded China, with the opening of its first Chinese store in December. This was announced as it displays its new wares at the Shanghai World Expo, running from July 14th through August 15th.

Chinese firm Quingqi Motorcycles will distribute the Peugueot scooters where both companies each a 50% stake. Peugeot will offer Chinese consumers a five-model lineup, comprising of three scooters and two motorcycles, ranging in displacement from 80 to 125cc. All five will be built in China at a plant located in Jinan.

Peugeot has unveiled its latest eco-friendly scooter with the Vivacity e-scooter. The new e-scooter is highlighted by a 4kW engine that is equivalent to a 50cc scooter.

It looks like Peugeot has big plans come 2011. And the focus just like most scooter companies is a return to the electric scooter market. For their part, Peugeot is pinning its hopes on the E-Vivacity scooter which thrives on lithium-ion battery.

Peugeot has lifted the covers for its first hybrid scooter concept with the 2009 Peugeot Hybrid3 Evolution. It comes in three wheels and is souped with a 300cc petrol engine which will power up the rear wheel up to 41bhp.

Peugeot has been known to deliver scooters throughout the years. And now as they move into the third generation, Peugeot unveils the latest line of scooters in the Peugeot Speedfight 3 scooters. Upon their launch, they will come out with a choice of air-cooled or liquid cooled engines.
