In a strategic move, Hero Electric has announced that it plans to assemble its line of e-scooters at foreign markets. The target areas are Western Europe and North America which Hero management feels will help address business issues such as cost and staffing. This will not be contract manufacturing scenario meaning Hero will continue to sell its scooters under the Hero Electric brand. Among the models Hero currently sells in the market include E-Sprint, Maxi, Optima Plus, Wave Dx and Wave Dx Extra Mile.

Hero Electric has announced that it will start exporting scooters to Latin America and Europe by 2010. They also bared that they are looking for potential distributors in these areas and is exploring other regions as well like Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina. The first electric scooter will be launched in the next two months after already launching one hybrid scooter last month. They have set an annual sales quota of 25,000 to 30,000 units to break the ice as far as their sales goals are concerned.
