This is a tale of two countries who have embraced the advent of electric bikes. On one corner there is Britain which has so far been experiencing a rapid boom in the demand and sale of electric bikes. This is to be expected considering many consumers are shifting to electric bikes as a means of transport. On the other end, China is seeking a ban or at least a control on the number of bikes out in the streets. The reason cited are fears that China would be overrun by electric bicycles hitting the streets.
Finally there is of course the problem of classification. Apparently this concerns the top speed they can reach which looks like they will be adjusted. Electric bikes are close to being similar to motorcycles and under the law, they require some licensing and insurance should that be the case.
